Programme overview

XLVets National Farmer Event "Preparing for a Healthy Housing Season".

Winter housing, be it in the beef, dairy or suckler herd has its challenges. We aim to provide you with information to help you reduce the risk that these challenges bring and also take the opportunities to improve performance and productivity of your herd.

This year has been an eventful one for Irish agriculture. In a constant effort to keep farming sustainable in this country, new regulation for environmental protection will change practices to reduce waste, protect water quality and promote biodiversity. How we can prescribe and use the medicines that are at our disposal is also changing.

Add to that, the Irish summer has brought its own challenges and will have had effects on feed quantity and quality. Parasite burdens are different to other years and disease incidences are changing.

Our veterinary experts, from your local practices, will cover important topics such as winter housing preparation, pre-weaning strategies, responsible use of medicines, and parasite control. These areas are essential for ensuring the well-being of your livestock and the success of your farming operation.

This event is kindly sponsored by MSD Animal Health
