Programme overview
XLVets Skillnet are hosting a "CowSignals for the Veterinary Practitioner" event on Wednesday 13th November 2024. CowSignals is a proven approach in assessing a cow’s environment, welfare and husbandry. productivity, health and longevity. CowSignals was developed by a group of Dutch vets in 2002 and has been developed since to incorporate the latest evidence-based research in dairy health and husbandry to improve the way we house and manage our cows.
As vets in practice, we are highly trained to measure clinical signs, it is part of our diagnostic skills. CowSignals training builds on this to make us more familiar to subtle behavioural signals in our client’s herds.
In this one-day course designed for farm animal veterinary practitioners, gain confidence in advising farmers about housing design, feeding and management practices adding further value to the clinical services on offer in your practice. You will learn how to advise dairy farmers with tips to improve the cow’s health and welfare resulting in reduced disease and injury and increased production efficiencies.
