XLVets Skillnet are hosting a two day "Beginners Companion Animal Dentistry " event on Monday 17th & Tuesday 18th June 2024. This 2-day introductory course will focus on basic dentistry skills, ideal for new graduates or vets new to veterinary dentistry, this highly practical course aims to nurture your dentistry skills and features a comprehensive hands-on wet lab to provide participants with valuable practical experience, preparing them for Stage 1 dentistry.

– Master dental examination techniques and charting for both dogs and cats
– Develop proficiency in scaling and polishing
– Identify and classify dental diseases and oral pathology
– Perform simple, non-surgical extractions with confidence
– Gain an introduction to dental radiology and interpretation
– Familiarise yourself with the staged dentistry concept


Dr Jerzy Paweł Gawor DVM, MRCVS, PhD, Dipl AVDC, Dipl EVDC, Fellow AVD Dr
Jerzy Paweł Gawor (1966) graduated in April 1992. He received his PhD in 1996. Since January 2009 Fellow Academy of Veterinary Dentistry. In 2015 successfully completed requirements and became Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC) and European Veterinary Dental College (EVDC). At present Dr Gawor provides dental teaching services in European School of Advanced Veterinary Studies in Europe and Asia.

His main field of professional activity is dentistry, head and neck surgery and oncology. Several hundred advanced dentistry procedures a year have resulted in a wealth of skill and practical knowledge. Published and presented over 160 publications in veterinary dentistry.
